November Birchbox

It has been too long since I’ve shared my obsession passion for beauty products here on the blog, so I’m going to remedy that situation by sharing my November Birchbox with you! Interested in Birchbox? Check out my post here to find out more about it. Birchbox 11-16-2014 (1 of 8)

Here’s what I got in this month’s box:Birchbox 11-16-2014 (2 of 8)

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for LipsBirchbox 11-16-2014 (3 of 8)

I have been dying to try this lip balm for so long, so I was thrilled to get a sample in this box. The balm is very thick and perfect to put on right before bed for plump, perfectly moisturized lips. I think I’ve found my go to winter lip remedy.

Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24 Hour MascaraBirchbox 11-16-2014 (6 of 8)

This tiny wonder really knocked my socks off. While it’s not my favorite mascara, it did hold a curl very well and it stayed in place even through a workout without budging. I like the shape of the wand–it really helps you get every lash. This will be a good traveling mascara to take on the go.

amika Perk Up Dry ShampooBirchbox 11-16-2014 (5 of 8)

If you haven’t tried any products by amika, you need to order some ASAP. This brand is ultra nourishing and smells absolutely divine. I have the Nourishing Mask and I don’t think I’ve used anything more luxurious on my hair before. I love to use dry shampoo to add volume and texture to my hair, as well as to suck up any excess oil after a busy day of running around. This isn’t chalky, adds great volume and, like all the other products in this line, smells fantastic.

Greenleaf Candle–Silver SpruceBirchbox 11-16-2014 (4 of 8)

Speaking of smelling fantastic, this candle smells like Christmas. I could smell the Christmas tree scent before I even opened the box. I’m gearing up for the Christmas season and I cannot wait to burn this candle to get me into the holiday spirit.

Dr. Jart+ Pore Minimalist MaskBirchbox 11-16-2014 (7 of 8)

I’ve been really into masks recently and with the weather changing, so is my skin. I’m new to the world of cloth masks–you know the ones that make you look even crazier than normal masks do. This is a charcoal mask which literally sucks the gunk out of your pores and really clarifies the skin.

If you subscribe, what’d you get in your box this month? What’s your favorite beauty go to right now?

May 2014 Birchbox

It’s that most glorious time of month when I receive my Birchbox in the mail!

Want more information on Birchbox? Here’s a post I wrote about my April Birchbox!

Here’s what I got in my May Box:May Birchbox

Beauty Protector Protect Shampoo and ConditionerBirchbox (2 of 7)

I LOVE Beauty Protector products! I use the Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle spray and the Beauty Protector Protect & Oil—both were sent as samples in earlier boxes and I immediately fell in love. They make me feel like I’m really doing something good for me hair—they protect from heat, make my hair soft and shiny, and they smell INCREDIBLE!!

I’m excited to try the Shampoo and Conditioner since I’ve had such a love affair with the other Beauty Protector products.

LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube PencilBirchbox (3 of 7)

I am always looking for a new lip color. I have a serious obsession with lipsticks and I love to wear a bold lip. I’ve had a lot of luck with lip crayons like this in the past and while I love the minty smell, I was not a huge fan of the coral color. I originally thought this coral made me look pretty washed out and was a little sheerer than I was hoping for, but after wearing it around the house I loved the sheer, almost nude coral and will definitely be wearing it this summer!

32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath CrystalsBirchbox (5 of 7)

These little things are pretty interesting—they’re basically Pop Rocks that freshen your breath. They fizz and pop in your mouth just like Pop Rocks, but they leave you with a nice clean feeling in your mouth and instantly freshen breath. They’re great mid-morning after I’ve finished my coffee and after lunch!

Supergoop! Everyday SPF 30 with Cellular Response TechnologyBirchbox (4 of 7)

I am terrible at remembering to put on sunscreen if it isn’t already included in my makeup. I’ve never had a problem with sunburns thanks to my Hispanic heritage, which makes me think I don’t need sunscreen. I’m definitely one of those sun tan oil users—I know it’s terrible for you. After the wedding, I promised Josh I would stop tanning and take better care of my skin. Supergoop! Is a great skin care line that makes layering SPF products easy! They specialize in skin care products loaded with SPF that don’t smell like you’ve been at the pool all day.

If you’re interested in trying Birchbox, I definitely 100% recommend it.

Give it a try and let me know what you get in your Birchbox! Or let me know what beauty product you couldn’t live without or what beauty product you splurge on.

Birchbox–April 2014

I am obsessed with all things beauty related. Whether it be skin care products, hair products, nail polish, or makeup—I’ve got to try it and I end up wanting (needing) to buy it. If I tell Josh I need to go to Target he just rolls his eyes and asks me “How do you go through makeup so quickly?” or “You don’t seriously need makeup again, do you?” or some variation on that. And unfortunately for him, our mall has a Sephora (the one in Florida didn’t) AND we are very shortly getting an ULTA, which will open conveniently right next to Target.  Because I love to try new products and because Josh (and I) tend to be very picky with how we spend our money, I signed up for Birchbox–and you should try Birchbox too!

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service that is designed for the beauty product obsessed girl in all (or just me) of us. Every month Birchbox sends 4-6 beauty products from new companies and well known and loved companies. The products generally vary by category—from hair, makeup, nails, fragrance—and normally includes a lovely treat like chocolate or tea.

Then there’s the beauty of Birchbox points. Birchbox operates an online boutique for all the products they sample and other products from those companies. For every $1 you spend at the Birchbox Store, you get 1 Birchbox Point. For every 100 BB Points, you get a $10 credit to the store. You can also earn points by reviewing the products you received in your Birchbox every month—you get 10 points for every review.

The subscription is only $10 a month, which I budget into my personal monthly spending allowance and I LOVE IT!

Getting my Birchbox in mail seriously can make my day and I always enjoy sampling the products and finding new products and brands to love.

Here’s what I got in my April Birchbox:

I received

April Products

I’ve used Number 4 products before and generally they work well. I’ll definitely be needing a good clarifying shampoo as we enter summer, to was away chlorine and detox my hair from any beach trips. And I always love a good hair masque. I normally  have pretty healthy, hydrated hair but I definitely struggle with frizz in summer humidity so I can use a little extra hydration, especially after using a clarifying shampoo.

I’m obsessed with full, thick eyebrows. I pencil mine in with a Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow Pencil in Blonde and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel is exactly what I need to lock in brows and make my makeup look polished.

I’ve only tried 1 flavor of the KIND Bars before (Almond and Coconut), but I fell in love with them! They are so good and are actually pretty good for you. I always try to keep a snack with me when I’m on the go, because I live my entire life around food and when the next time I’m going to get to eat will come.

I used to paint my nails all the time, but haven’t really been able to the past couple months. When I’m stressed, I bit my nails and pick at my cuticles so right about now I’m in dire need of a manicure. Hopefully the Color Club Art Duo Pen will help me with a half-moon mani which I’m obsessed with trying!

As we get closer and closer to summer weather, I’ve noticed how dry my skin is thanks to this charming winter we’ve had. The BijaBody Serum smells really good and has really helped to moisturize my dry skin, especially around my knees, heels, and elbows.

If you’re interested in trying Birchbox, I definitely 100% recommend it.

Give it a try and let me know what you get in your Birchbox! Or let me know what beauty product you couldn’t live without or what beauty product you splurge on.
